French know-how, recognised the world over

The quality of the structures produced by French companies is recognized as much nationally (in particular with the engineering and transport and development project management specialists working to build Grand Paris) and globally. The sector enjoys the know-how of multiple major corporations. France’s engineering prowess is highly-appreciated at the international level, and its material and equipment suppliers also enjoy a solid reputation.

On the strength of its 7,355 businesses and 235,300 employees, the French Public Works industry earned, in 2017, €38.6 billion in revenue in France and €30 billion internationally, up by 7.9% compared to 2016. This hike in activity is owed primarily to the Oceania (41.7%), European (+15.9%) and, to a lesser extent, Asian (+3.6%) markets. France has multiple assets to boast, including:

 Unquestionable product quality, the renown of its architects and engineers worldwide.

 An active Innovation and Research & Development policy.

 Unforgiving standards: initiatives to promote prevention and safety, ensure personnel safety, and secure certification.

The France Pavilion at BAUMA will showcase a range of companies selected for the representative panorama they offer of the industry. Dubai Airport Show: The go-to event for the French airport sector in the Middle East United Arab Emirates: April 8th 2019- The Dubai Airport Show is, now more than ever, the reference show for those wishing to take position on airport modernization/new construction projects in the zone and meet airport operators in the Middle East. France will once again be taking part in the show in 2019, under the auspices of Business France, the national agency supporting the international development of the French economy.

Against a particularly auspicious backdrop - USD 163 bn in airport investments by 2020 in the Middle East - and no less than 12 airport construction, extension or renovation projects in the upcoming years, in the Middle East, exhibitors at the French Pavilion, will be eager to present their innovative products and know-how to buyers across the Middle East zone.

The French industry is organized into different sectors encompassing not only construction, equipment and systems, but also services, divided into 3 clusters: air traffic control and ground traffic, airline stopovers and air terminals. At the Dubai Airport Show, the French companies participating are representative of the diversity of the sector and French excellence, and already have significant presence on the global market.

France’s industry for airports includes world-renowned major corporations such as ADPI, VINCI and THALES to name only a few, as well as a number of SMEs specialized in specific market segments (Ground Support Equipment, lighting, ticketing or passenger information systems). There exist nearly 180 French companies specialized in services dedicated to airlines and airports (reception services, cleaning, catering, handling, etc.).

Brought together in a National Pavilion in Za’abeel Hall 5, Stands 5340 & 5440, France’s exhibitors will be representative of the sector’s diversity and French excellence:

ADP INGENIERIE : Design and overseeing of the construction of complex airport buildings (airports, terminals, passenger terminals, control towers, aircraft hangars, maintenance centres, etc.).

CHARLATTE MANUTENTION : Handling and lifting equipment, electric baggage conveyor belts.

GUINAULT : Solutions for stopping APUs on the ground and reducing the environmental impact and costs of airlines.

• Turnover: EUR 63.5 bn (revenue in France and through export)

• 530 companies

• Approximately 100,000 jobs

• 156 airports in air transport in France

• Air transport for passengers experienced a significant increase in 2016, with traffic up by 6.3% (3.7 billion passengers), and growth continuing into 2017.

France’s offer boasts numerous strengths:

- A widely-hailed French aeronautics industry considered the benchmark worldwide.

- The skill of French aircraft manufacturers is recognized and sought after, in particular for spare parts hailing from France.

- A two-pronged civil-military focus that gives France a technological lead over other countries.

- The quality of training received by French engineers and technicians.
